After long days waiting, and some pretty mediocre surf, we finally got the results through on the Quiksilver Pro from the Gold Coast last night.
If you managed to stay up and watch the final day, you will have seen Kirra chucking out some messy, heavy barrels for the competitors, and some really top quality surfing in extremely difficult conditions.
Parko and Fanning heat was pure drama, with the lead swapping hands as they traded waves. Pulling in to some really sick looking barrels and making it out of what looked like impossible situations. Pushing each other deeper in to the tube until Parko finished it off with a perfect 10.
Too tired to watch the final, Parko took the crown defeating de Souza in the same tricky and heavy conditions. Read the full report on aspworldtour web site
So, what does all this mean for the eco-star surf club?
We all did pretty bad. Kelly going out didn't help anyone, well done to those with Parko on their team, and unlucky to those who dumped him last minute in favour of Fanning (me).
For the record the standings at the moment are:
1st SURFPROOF - 713
2nd *K* - 660
3rd PURE CREATIVE - 646
4th GWK BNPT - 618
5th JOYSTICK.CO.UK - 530
6th ECO-STAR - 517
7th RED ARMY - 476
8th NORMS STARS - 441
9th MORGANS ALOHA - 355
We're gonna give something small away to the best placed in the coming Bells contest, the more the merrier - get your mates to come and join the eco-star surf club.
